9TH ANNUAL

LIFE$TYLE$ OF THE RICH & FAMOU$

24 HOUR RACE

MAY 17/18, 2008

MANSFIELD OUTDOOR CENTRE

Once again, W.O.W. is pleased to present to you the 9th Annual Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous 24 Hour Race. Instead of striving for bigger, we have decided to stress quality and the care of our participants. We intend to treat you like you are "Rich & Famous"!!! Fun, and a few trophies and prizes, are the main goal.

The whole idea is to have a nice, laid back race. Lots of hype and huge crowds is not what we are after. We are only trying to achieve fun.

Every team gets a cabin - no tents, no trailers, none of that. Solo racers have access to a large common cabin reserved just for them and their helpers. Everyone gets fed amazing food. Typical food was a fajita lunch and a pasta dinner, a pancake breakfast and a roast chicken dinner at the end of the race. Leave your Coleman stove at home!

Chef Danielle returns once again for 2008.

We will not require you to provide "volunteers"! If you want to help us out, great, or if you want to sleep that's okay too! Only 24 teams of 5 will be accepted, plus 15 solo racers. 135 racers in total. No crowd scene.

We feel this should be an exclusive club for the participants.

The "Rich & Famous" Club.

Imagine. Only a small number of racers are on course at one time. Wonderful trails. Great food cooked for you. Coffee available day and night. A really great event souvenir. A roof over your head. Real beds. Showers. Indoor toilets. The idea is to have fun on your bike. W.O.W. will take care of the rest. We want to reduce the stress for everyone. Mountain biking isn't about stress - it's about fun. That's the idea for the whole Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous.

The event format is conventional. Arrive by 10:30am on Saturday May 17th. Race starts at noon. Race for the next 24 hours. Have a big meal and kick back and relax at the end of it all. If you want to, you can show up on Friday evening, just realize that there will not be any food available.

Teams - $875 for a 5 person team. A $250 deposit is requested, with the balance on April 1, 2008.

Teams are limited to a maximum of 2 helpers. Cost for these helpers is to be determined (this gives them all meals and cabin priviledges). These helpers must be completely non-riding due to insurance considerations. Each team gets their own rustic cabin with one exception. We have two cabins that are large enough to sleep two teams each in very large rooms. If you'd like to share one of these large cabins with another team that you know, love and tolerate, please let us know. As well we have additional rooms in the Field Centre. This is a gorgeous building, but it is a few hundred metres from the Start/Finish, BUT it is right on the race course.

Solo - $175. An $90 deposit is requested, with the balance due on April 1, 2008. Solo riders are limited to a maximum of 2 helpers. Cost for these helpers is to be determined (this gives them all meals and cabin privileges). Solo riders and their helpers have access to a large common area in a big cabin next to the Start/Finish

Accommodations - You will have to bring your own sleeping bag, pillows, towels, etc. Shower facilities are readily available.

A Food Ticket policy is strictly enforced for all racers and team helpers. Food will be available for spectators only if feasible.

LATEST EVENT NEWS

2008 LIFE$TYLE$ IS NOW SOLD OUT!!!

Please contact us if you want on the waiting list.

We sometimes have people drop out due to injury or other circumstances

FOR THE FUTURE

Here's how registration works. People who did our race the previous year get the first crack at the few available spots. Most of the people typically decide to join us once again - we have a loyal following.

On October 20, 2007 the people who participated in May were able to register for the 2008 race. They had until 7pm on November 12, 2007 to get in their paperwork. At that time remaining spots, both solo and team were filled - First Come, First Served. A similar procedure will take place for the 2009 race.
